    Here We Come!
I am now 16 years old and My farther finally earned enough money to bring himself and I over to America. I am so pumped for this new world! All the new things I can learn and all the things I can do! Its really awkward here on this boat, We are the only chinese family on this boat, the rest seem to be Irish or Russians. Hopefully we can get in to!

The chinese were not aloud overWe're finally here! I cant to get started with my new life. As my farther and I are about to walk into the building two very large men stand in our way and tell us to leave immediatly! With shock and depression my Farther asks, "why." They responded by saying, "Chinese are aloud here." My farther was filled with so much anger! so we turned and head back for the boat.
  • We are making it in

    We are making it in
My farther was furious! This is an outrage! My farther wasn't going to let this stop him. He leaned over to me and said, "Stay close, dont let me out of your sight." Then he dived straight into the water. Without thinking I did the same! We swam in the bitter cold water for almost 20 minutes. We finally came to a beach and layed there in the sand with great relief.
  • Fitting In

    Fitting In
Chinese Exclusion ActMy father and I layed in the soothing sand for almost 10 minutes. No talking, just breathing and thinking. My farther sits up and says, "We can't get caught." So we stand up, get ourselves together and went on our way. We walked through the streets with our heads down, not seeing any other chinese. We came across a park with a little tiny shack in the far right corner. We decided to stay there for the night.
  • It Was Worth The Try.

    It Was Worth The Try.
My Father and I slept well all night but to find ourselves waking up to whites all around them. They asked us how we got here and how we got off the boat. They didnt seem angry, just confused. We thought we could get away without anyone knowing but one of the whites called the police. The police pulled up and cuffed us and shoved us into his car. They took us to the police station and went right back to angel Island. They put us right back on the boat and sent us home.
