Gandhi organized an organization to oppose the hated Salt Acts. According to these Gritish laws, Indians could buy salt only from the goverment. To show that Gandhi was opposed he walked with the people by his side, 240 miles to the seacoast. were there they began to make their own salt by using/collecting seawater and letting it evaporate.
