POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENTS - After the French Directory being overthrown (the coup d'état) by Napoleon and a few others, Napoleon named himself first consul. Of course none objected because of all the military work Napoleon had done for the country of France over the years. Overall, this would be seen as a political achievement because Napoleon gained a higher place in the government.

POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENT - The Coup d'état of 1799 was one of the most successful coups in all of history, In fact, the throne was overthrown in a matter of days. Additionally, it was even bloodless (no lives sacrificed). This was pulled off by the man himself Napoleon Bonaparte, Emperor of France from 1804-1814.

ECONOMIC SUCCESS - Napoleon Bonaparte, the first console of France during the year of 1800, created the Bank of France. Napoleon created the Bank of France for a variety of reasons. For example, he needed a way to rebuild the economy after the long, and horrendous revolutionary period. This was an economic success because it payed off war debts and produced a flow of money so workers could get paid.

SOCIAL REFORM - Religion was a crucial part of France's society. The people of France found it very important that the pope and first console (at the time), Napoleon, had a good relationship. Napoleon was aware he needed the people's support, so he came up with the Concordat. The Concordat, filled the gaps with the Roman Catholic Church and religion as whole. Additionally, this would be seen as a social reform because it bettered Napoleon and society.

SOCIAL REFORM - Napoleon is known as on of the greatest military masterminds to this day. Not only did he recruit the fittest of people, but he also made lycees (schools for boys 10-16) to start military training and education at a young age. He explained this concept to be "right thinking". Overall, this helped in the long run because his military grew stronger than ever seen before.

ECONOMIC SUCCESS - The reason Napoleon was so successful was mainly because of his extraordinary military strategies. For example, he created the Meritocracy. The meritocracy was based on ability, so the strongest people were promoted. This worked in his favor and led him to many victories. Overall, the Meritocracy was an economic success because it bettered the economy by having well suited people in higher positions.

ECONOMIC SUCCESS - The Louisiana Purchase was land purchased by Thomas Jefferson, (President of The United States at the time) from Napoleon, the first console in France. The land was a bargain, selling for as little as 15 million. The cost was so little because Napoleon no longer wanted Louisiana to be a granary for his upcoming empire. Additionally, he needed money for war dept.

SOCIAL REFORM - The Napoleonic Code is arguably one of Napoleon's greatest accomplishments. The Napoleonic code made equality before law much more prominent than ever before. Additionally, the Napoleonic code secured property rights. Furthermore, it created and strengthened commercial and criminal laws.

POLITICAL ACHIEVEMENT - Not only did Napoleon crown himself empire, but the pope attended his coronation. This made him extremely respected by the French citizens because a close relationship with the pope (who they considered the closest person to god) was sacred to them. However, instead of the pope crowning Napoleon, he crowned himself. This symbolized all the powerful he held. Additionally, Napoleon becoming emperor made the country of France feel at peace and structured economically.

MILITARY ACCOMPLISHMENT - Over the years Napoleon reigned he was applauded for his strategic and smart plans regarding the military. The battle of Austerlitz was no exception to his greatness, in fact, it's even considered his greatest military accomplishment. The battle was located in a town called Slavkov u Brna, in the Czech Republic and there were nearly 1500 casualties. Additionally, this battle was significant because Napoleon conquered both the Russian and Australian empires.

MILITARY ACCOMPLISHMENT - Napoleons powerful army struck again at the Battle of Jena-Auerstädt. This battle was a turning point in European history because it caused Prussia to lose half its population and even some Russian soldiers. What Napoleon didn't know was Prussia and Russia had signed a secret alliance in early July. However, even after all his setbacks like lack of communication and alliances, Napoleon came out on top and gained yet another military success.

MILITARY ACCOMPLISHMENT - The Battle of Wagram was among the long list of Napoleon's victories. The battle took place in marchfeld (A plain northeast of Vienna), Austria. Additionally, Napoleon's army had a total of 154,000 troops whilst fighting the 158,000 Austrian troops. This victory was important because without it Napoleon could have been overthrown or lost an immense amount of power. This battle is seen as a military accomplishment because it strengthened the French Empire.

Over Napoleon's life he accomplished many things. Above all, I think he should be remembered for his remarkable military strategies. Over the years Napoleon reigned, he won over 70 battles, and conquered many different countries. Additionally, Many people even say Napoleon was just as skilled as Alexander the Great.
