    Declared men were born free and have equal rights; people enjoyed natural rights; evcery frenchmen hasd the right to hold public office, taxes levied based on ability to pay and freedom of religion. it was passed by the Antional Assembly.

    Women in the marketplace in Paris were nearly rioting over the high price and low amount of bread. The women and some revolutionaries formed a mob of over 1,000 people. The mob marched to Versailles and forced the King and Queen to return with them to Paris.

    King Louis XVI and his immediate family attempt to flee from Paris. They were attempting to escape to Austria to lead a counter to the revolutionaries. They were stopped in Varennes and captured.

    On November 9th Napoleon Bonarparte overthrew the failing French Directory. Napoleon had arrived unannounced from Egypt at Frejus. With the help of Sieyes and Roger-Ducos as well his brother Lucien he succeeded in ending the Directory and becoming first consul of France.
