    The Old Regime was the time before the French Revolution. The French were divided into 3 estates: 1st Clergy, 2nd Nobility, and 3rd Bourgeoisie class.

    Members of the 3rd estate were locked out of a meeting of the Estates General. The 3rd estate moved to a nearby tennis court. Some members of the other estates join this group, the king orders them to separate but they refuse. The king gave in and everyone joins this group.

    Bastille is a French prison with a handful of prisoners. People stormed the Bastille to free prisoners.France now celebrates bastille day, July 14th.
