-
I became a blastocyst in January of 1987. After gathering enough cells I became an embryo and was named either Bennet James or Derek James (My parents always believed I would be a boy).
-
-
I became a fetus and began rapidly maturing into a full blown baby.
-
A nine month and two week gestational period later I was born naturally and promptly peed on the doctor.
-
I laughed a lot. I also made my first friend at age two.
-
-
I learned to climb over a double babygate wall by dragging a foot-stool over to them and crawling over; This, according to my parents, was in order to get to the fridge and "raid" it.
-
I was bottle fed until age one.
-
-
I started preschool and began learning to read, I was also enrolled in a tumbling class.
-
-
I was in my first car accident at age five. To this day I can't trust the ability of other drivers I am in the car with.
-
I had my first bodily injury; I was hit in the nose with a baseball
-
My father taight me to ride a bike at age five.
-
I began learning spanish in kindergarten. I could name ten colors and count to twenty in spanish.
-
I went to my first funeral; it was for my great uncle; I realized we don't live forever.
-
I had my first full day of school. I had a hard time being away from home for my first six months of first grade, but I eventually got over it.
-
-
I went to church for the first time; I had never fathomed religion or the thought of a "god" before.
-
I began playing soccer in grade school; I was a left winger
-
I started playing football in seventh grade; I was a defensive end.
-
-
My group of friends begins expanning as I start becoming more social and begin talking to girls with an interest in dating them
-
My voice begins cracking as puberty sets in. Puberty doesn't make me stick out much other than the onset of mild acne
-
I don't do well in school after puberty; I was a mostly C student.
-
-
Although a straight C student, I managed to hit the honour-roll my sophmore year of highschool, proving to my parents I am capable of doing so. The rise in grades doesn't last as I become more rebellious.
-
I have my first sexual experience at age 16; I now personally feel (but don't necessarily look like) a man.
-
Fights with my parents increase and intesify as I seek more independence and spend more time away from my parent's house.
-
-
I graduate from college with a masters in nursing. After 18 years of school, I can finally call myself a Nurse Practitioner.
-
Being a Nurse Practitioner is stressful, especially after opening my own practice. Through the highs and the lows, my office is still up an running and doing well, but the hair on my head has grayed prematurely. I have three kids now; two boys and a girl, all within four years of each other
-
I finally put on a couple pounds, have to watch my cholesteral, and am ask risk for colon cancer.
-
-
My wife of 52 years and I travel a lot and try to stay active after retirement. I am 80, she is 77. Our last vacation destination: Peru, where we bunjee jumped off of a bridge. Also, our grandchildren, now five of them, visit us regularly.
-
Although not as sharp as I used to be, I keep active in the medical field in an attempt to keep my brain from deteriorating as a result of a lack of stimulation. I do this as more of a hobby these days.
-
My wife and I are still in decent shape, not needing canes or walkers to get around, although our white hair and our skin show our age. We are looking into age-defying stem cell therapies and nano-surgeons.
-
All of the stem-cell therapies and nano-surgeons in the world are no match for a faulty parachute on a b.a.s.e. jump off of the Eiffel Tower for my 84th birthday. My wife understands I died doing what I loved. I am survived by my wife, three children, seven grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. As a result of stem cell therapies and nano-surgeons, my wife will live for another 30 years, dying at the ripe old age of 117.
