I was born in China, in Huai’an, Jiangsu Province. A few weeks later I was dropped at the steps of an orphanage.
  • Parents

I met my new parents who adopted me in Nanjing, China. My parents told me that they went to a lot of doctors and did a lot of paper work to prove they should have me. And my parents met other people who were adopting from the same place. I still know them and see them often because they all live near Toronto.
  • Canada

    Canada
I came to Canada on the plane with my new parents. When we landed we saw many friends and family; they all took pictures and were touching me. I cried a lot, but we were finally home!

I got Stanley, my Basset Hound dog. He came from Newfoundland and my dad and I drove to the airport in Toronto to pick him up. I don’t remember myself, but my parents say that he was very small so that they could hold him in their arms.
  • School

    School
I started junior kindergarten at Kew Beach Public School and also began attending the daycare there. I was very nervous but liked Mrs.Reiart, and after that it seemed normal. I had her the for the senior kindergarten too. I had lots of fun, but I only remember painting.
  • Ottawa

    Ottawa
We went to Ottawa and went to all the the tourist attractions there, like the parliament building with the peace tower. I learnt a lot about the government and It was really fun. I especially liked the Museum of Civilization and didn’t want to leave.

  • Washington

    Washington
We went to Washington. It was 4th of July so we saw wonderful fireworks. We saw the White House, Lincoln Memorial, Congress, museums and the National Zoo where we saw the giant pandas. It was neat to see them before there were some in Toronto.
  • Disney World

    Disney World
I went to Disney World, in Florida with my parents and our friend. We visited all the parks, including Universal Studio and we went on many rides. But this one ride I refused to go on so they paid me 4 dollars to bribe me and it was so fun I went on it three times. That was the most fun I had and I really want to go back!
  • Fallingwater

    Fallingwater
We went to Pittsburgh and Fallingwater, which is a very famous house. We drove through a long valley and we got a ticket. We waited and then we had a long tour of Fallingwater. It was all built on top of a waterfall. I found the building very interesting and it looked very cool too.
  • Lost a Dog

    Lost a Dog
I lost a dog. One of our neighbours needed someone to walk their puppy for a day. My dad offered me to do it because we have a dog and we have walked other people’s dogs before. We went to the man’s house and the dog started to pee all over the floor. We then tried to get her collar on which was hard because it was a harness and she was jumping around. We got it on but when we went out she pulled out and ran! That was a very scary experience, And I will never walk someone’s dog again.
  • Summer Camp

    Summer Camp
I went to my first sleep-over camp at Camp Kearney with my friend, Sara. When we got there, we were waiting for a 3-4 hour drive to Muskoka I was extremely nervous and scared but I didn’t have to be. We canoed, swam, played volleyball and soccer. The only thing that was bad was that we had to take a shower for a max of 3 minutes. But, we learnt a lot and had a great time.
