The Great Pyramid is the largest of the 3 pyramids of Giza. Measuring 146 meters (481 feet) in height and 230 meters (750 feet) in length per side. It was built with locally quarried core stones such as white Tura limestone that would have have been bright and reflective at the time. Some stones weighing as much as 50 tons. The cult temple to the Sun God Re in Heliopolis was an open space with a squat obelisk placed in full sunlight. This design was thoughtfully planned to worship the Sun God in the desert. The Walls of Babylon were known as the impenetrable walls. Nebuchadnezzar II fortified the city after an attack from Hammurabi with three rings of walls that were 40 feet tall. the walls had three major palaces on top along with multiple shrines.Herodotus wrote that the walls were so thick that chariot races were held on top. The Temple of Luxor was built parallel to the Nile River and was designed with an open court with lotus columns around. It included an offering hall, a shrine for ceremonial boat of the God, inner sanctuary and a room to celebrate the birth of the king. The temple made to originally worship Zeus and Hera was built out of wood but eventually was replaced by stone. The temple was left for Hera once Zeus had a temple constructed nearby. The tomb of Cyrus the Great was a smaller tomb compared to the Ancient Egyptians measuring about 13 3/4 x 12 1/4 meters (45 feet x 40 feet) and 11 meters (36 feet) in height. The tomb has architectural resemblance to structures from Lycia and Phrygia which were conquered 17 years earlier. There are two chambers, a square room that held the king and an attic. One of the richest cities on earth, filled with the treasure of a vast empire piled up in the store-rooms. The citadel covered 125,000 square meters (30 acres) and was full of sculptures of animals symbolizing the king's authority and power. The Parthenon lays on-top of the hill of the Acropolis at Athens. Built for the goddess Athena Parthenos, the temple was designed with the simplest of the three Classical Greek architectural orders. The structure was made of rectangular white marble and then decorated on the inside with a gold and ivory statue of Athena.The colonnade consisted of 8 columns on the east and west and 17 on the north and south. The Theater of Epidaurus was constructed in two stages and originally had 34 rows of seats divided into 34 blocks by stairs and walkways.
