    Immigrating To America
I came to America with my husband. We weren't fortunate enough to have many opportunities in China. We heard America was an amazing place to work; so we moved here. We came through Angel Island immigration port. I was about 17 and he was at the age of 18 when we came.
  • Asian Racism (Money related racism)

    Asian Racism (Money related racism)
For my husband and I, we weren't paid as much as other workers who weren't Asian. There was much racism going on around the time against Chinese and other Asian immigrants. We sent some of the money back to family back home in China; which made it even harder to stay alive.

My husband and i moved west with others to gain free land. Another we reason we headed west because their was lest racism there; so we could have a better chance collecting money at a fair rate compared to others.

    Chinese Exclusion Act
The Chiese Exclusion Act caused many problems for those who came from Asia looking for something better in America. They sentenced my husband for jail because they thought he was an illegal immigrant; they selected this without trial. Another problem with the act was that i was denied citizenship because of my race; and so was many others.
  • Earthquake & Fire of San Francisco

Earthquake & Fire of San Francisco
The earthquake caused a big fire. All the immigrant files were destroyed in the fire; many took advantage of this. Many Asians claimed to be born in America so they could be a citizen and couldn't be denied. I was one of those many who claimed to be born here in Amerca; i knew this was a lie.
  • Death

    Death
I died of natural causes. Sadly no one from my family could attend my funeral but i paved the path for many to follow. It was no easy walk through the park; but was totally worth the work and pain i put into my journey in America. I was 62, and the 47 year in America were a dream.
