  • Western Philosophy As We Know It

    Founded the Vienna Circle This forever changed philosophy. This group had regular meetings and included some of the most brilliant minds of the time. The rules of these meetings (logic-centric, despite opposition) bred new ideas, great works, and a legacy comparable to Plato's Academy in Ancient Greece. Many contemporary philosophers utilized the same methods applied to the meetings in their published works and established logical positivism (later known as logical empiricism).

    Published Problems of Ethics This divisive work included ethics as a contendable branch of philosophy. This was not the popular opinion among his peers.
  • Assassinated

    Deranged former student, Johann Nelböck, shot Schlick as he was heading to instruct a class. The assailant was arrested/hospitalized several times prior to this for threatening his prior professor. Schlick was considered a pro-Jewish conspirator due to his interactions with Jewish members of the Vienna Circle. He also may have possible slept with Nelböck's wife... Ultimately Nelböck only served 2 years of his 10 year sentence and immediately joined the Austrian Nazi Party upon release.
