Marie Antoinette born Maria Antonia Josepha Joanna on November 2, 1755 in Vienna, Austria. She was the 15th child of Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor and Maria Theresa. Along with his wife, Francis 1 founded the Habsburg- Lorraine dynasty. This event is significant because this is when she first entered the world.

Catherine the Great takes the throne
Catherine II also known as Catherine the Great seizes the Russian throne after Empress Elizabeth's death on December 25, 1761. Catherine's husband usurped the throne making him Henry III. During her rulling, Russia expanded and eventually became victorious.

Riots and the begining of the French revolution
Peasants and workers stormed the streets armed with weapons outside the Palace of Versailles. They all protested that the king and queen be brought to Paris. Louis XVI was shocked and unable to speakt to the angry mob. Marie Antoinette stepped in and filled his shoes. She met with all of his advisors and ambassadors. She also sent out letters to other European countries asking to help the French monarchy.

Attempt to flea France
Marie Antoinette and her lover Count Axel Von Fersen planned an escape for her and the royal family to flea France in fear of their saftey. Unfortunatly the plan went horribly wrong and they were all captured and returned back to Paris. Louis XVI agreed to a new constitiution as a result her was able to keep his title as King and his power.

The king and queen arrested
France went to war with Austria and Prussia, the increasing power of Maximilien de Robspierre forced the king out of power. September 1792 the National Convention destroyed the monarchy. Both the king and queen were arrested. Marie Antoinette's life was changed forever.

The execution of Marie Antoinette
On January 21, 1793 Louis XVI was executed. In October Marie Antoinette was put to trial for theft, treason and a false charge of sexual abuse against her son. She was found guilty and was executed by guillotine. She was the last queen of France.
