    Louisiana Purchase
The Louisiana Purchase was in 1803 when the U.S. was only going to buy a small part of Louisiana from France. We were going to buy it for $10 million, but they said, You can have ALL of this land for $5 million more. All of the land was 800,000 square miles and it had 17 different states. We took the deal and it was the best buy that the U.S. has ever made. B.I.F.F.I.S.I. is buy it, fight for it, steal it. The part of it that we did was buy it.

The War of 1812 was a war with the U.S. vs. British. There were two nicknames for this war: "Revolutionary War Part II" and "The Forgotten War". The nickname "Forgotten War" was called that because the war ended in a tie. The British burned down the nations capital, Washington D.C. There was a treaty signed that all wars would stop, but the British didn't get the message and kept fighting.
  • Florida Tertitory

    Florida Tertitory
The Florida territory came to the U.S in 1819 and we got it from Spain. We first invaded Florida then asked to buy it and they accepted for $5 million. All of the Indians were forced to leave and it was called the Indian Removal Act. There was a treaty that we signed that officially got us Florida called the Adams-Onis treaty. The Seminole Indian Tribe was pretty much the only tribe to leave. And they traveled to Oklahoma because there was horrible soil there and Florida's soil was very rich.
  • The Monroe Doctrine

    The Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine was in 1823 and it was when James Monroe wanted people to not interfere with the Americas. If everyone stayed out of ours, we would stay out of theirs. We wanted people to stay out so it didn't cause problems, trouble, and even wars. We really wanted Europe to stay out because that was the reason we wanted people to stay out.
  • Indian Removal Act & Trail of Tears

Indian Removal Act & Trail of Tears
The Indian Removal Act was in 1830 and the Trail of Tears was in 1838(9). The Indian Removal act was called that because it stated that all indians got kicked out of the U.S and it was called Trail of Tears because Indians were sad when they moved. There were five main tribes that had to move. They were: Chickasaw, Chactaw, Seminole, Creek, and the Cherokee tribe. They all moved to Oklahoma where there was very bad soil. It is nicknamed red dirt. The land that they moved had very rich soil.

    Texas
Texas people did not like Santa Anna, their President at all because of his laws. They wanted their independence from them really bad and got it. Their new president became Sam Houston and their capitol was named after Stephen and Moses Austin. Texas was for slavery and wanted to join the United States because they didn't want to go to war with Mexico. America and Mexico ended up going to war and America won so we got Texas. The U.S had to break some of Texas since it was so big.

Mexican-American War and the Treaty of Guatelupe Hidalgo
The war was between Mexico and America in 1846. We wanted to take some of Mexico's land. We won the war and got some of their land. It was a good part of Manifest Destiny. The Treaty of Guatelupe Hidalgo was a treaty that stated the end of the war.
  • Oregon Territory

    Oregon Territory
The U.S waned the Oregon Territory all the way to the 54 40 line or we would go to war. James K. Polk said 54 40 or fight! We both came to a compramise to the 49 parallel line. The compramise was okay for us so we took the offer. That was the last piece of land we got for Manifest Destiny. It just summed the whole thing up. James K. Polk was the one who got most of our land for us so we named him Mr. Manifest Destiny.
