  • Louis XIV moves the Nobles to Versailles

    In 1682 Louis moved the nobles to Versailles from Paris, this was most likely the smartest decision he had made in his life. Louis strategy was to move the rebellious nobles to a new palace in Versailles, this would give off the impression that him and the nobles were friends. This strategy would allow Louis to manipulate the nobles into doing what he asked. This decision would influence many leaders to follow in Louis footsteps.

  • Louis XIV Revokes the Edict of Nantes

    Louis revoked the Edict of Nantes because of his strong religious bias towards non-catholics. The Edict of Nantes granted religious freedom to french protestants, also known as Huguenots, and put an end to the religious wars going on in France. Louis revoked that in 1685 which caused about 200,000 Huguenots to leave France and caused a loss of skill, resources, and money. Although this wasn't very smart, it showed Louis predecessors how religion should be treated in France.

    Issac Newtons book, "The Principia", talks about the laws of gravity and motion, the discoveries that Newton discussed in his book were some of the greatest scientific and mathematical discoveries of all time. In newtons book he wrote about his now infamous three laws, first of which were the laws of inertia, second were the laws of acceleration, and third was for every action there is an opposite reaction. His book influenced some of the greatest minds in history.
