Muhammed and his followers the muslims, travel to Yathrib. this place was in civil war and he was asked to come and be a mediator. Once it was resolved the name of the city was changed to Medina and it was the first devout Muslim community.

Meccans were not happy that all the power they once had was now focused on Muhammad. As the Muslims and various tribes marched on Mecca, the Meccans realized that the tides had turned so when they got there many joined Muhammad.

He eventually returned to Medina after all of his travels where he lived out the rest of his life except his one last pilgrimmage to Mecca. he later died when he returned to medina on June 8, 632
