    He inherits the throne at the age of 4. Guided by his cheif minister cardinal Jules Mazarin, Louis was the Ruler of France leading a population of 14 million people.

    After the death of Cardinal Mazarin, 22 year old Louis took control and became an absolute monarchy. He weakened the power of nobles, and increased the power of government officials. To keeppower under his control, he made sure that local officials communicated regularly with him.

    One of the first big wars during Louis XIV's reign. His attempt to expand the Boders of france. Louis recieved a region called the Franche-Compté.
