Kenneth Craik was born in Edinburgh, Scotland. Son of James Craik, a solicitor, and Marie Sylvia Craik.. He lived in Edinburgh's Second New Town where he was educated at Edinburgh Academy. He then studied philosophy at University of Edinburgh. Kenneth Craik grew up becoming very knowledgeable at an early age.

Kenneth Craik and Gordon Butler made major advances on flight simulators for RAF, Royal Air Force. They also did studies on the effects of fatigue on pilots.

Kenneth Craig died at the age of 31 in Cambridge, United Kingdom. He was struck by a car on his bicycle in the King's Parade May 7th 1945. The next day, May 8th, in the hospital he was pronounced dead.
