Because of the potato famine and the desire to own land, Daniel and Mary Flannery Emmigrated from Ireland on a boat going to Ellis Island. There was a scary crew, and huge rats with diseases went scurrying all around the boat.

This is our journey from Ireland to New York. There were many journeys that we experienced and people that we met.

After 6 months of being on a boat, we arrived on Ellis island to start our journey for land and jobs. Once we got off the boat, it was straight to inspection on Ellis Island.

Because me and my wife were healthy and legal, we passed through Ellis Island in just a few hours. When we got out, it was three o'clock in the morning!

I get a job as a Blacksmith so that we can rent a house and get supplies.

Because me and my wife found my sister and needed shelter, we moved into their basement. We were so glad to finnally settle down temporarily and get off the streets.

Because I had a job and was saving money, we reached our estimate amount to move to Michigan

I lost my job and bills had to be payed so we spent half of the money of bills and the other half on a carriage and 2 horses.

Me and my wife arrived in Michigan after a long, three week trip.
