I arrived on Ellis Island. I had to sacrifice many things to come here such as my education, my home, and my grandparents. My grandparents were to old and my grandmother had a cold so they couldn't stay. I love my gradparents so much! It was very hard for me to leave them.

When we arrived at Ellis Island we had to get checked.I had to stay in legal detention for about a day and a half becasue they thought that I had been previsouly arrested. It turned out that they were wrong becasue they were reading the wrong file.

After we passed the exams at Ellis Island we had to find a boarding school (a place to stay). Luckily, we found one really quick. We just found one today and are unpacking. Wish us luck!

In 1874 the universities were opened to women. This has affected me so much! I love going to school and I finally get to! I have always wanted to be a teacher. I hope I get to be one!

I have gotten sick. I have caught scarlett fever. I am so terribly sick my husbad, Henry, has taken very good care of me though. I don't think I am going to stay very longer.
