I've decided that my wife and I are going to leave Poland. After the recent worker strikes, we are worried about financial stability. We are going to the United States. Poland's economy is crashing, and the best way we can see to guarantee a good life, is to move to the Prosperous US. -

We don't have any relatives that live in the US. I don't have a true plan for what to do when we get there. We made this decision on a whim, and i hope we don't regret it. -

We traveled by land to Denmark, and arrived at port Copenhagen lat last night. The boat is to leave at 7 A.M. on the dot, but the way things are ran around here, I won't be surprised if it is delayed. -

I’ve just had a revelation, I hate boats. I never knew that this fear was inside of me, but spending the last two days on the sea has really brought it out. The food is awful and I’ve barely slept. We aren’t supposed to arrive for another five days, and that’s just an estimate. -

The last few days have been hectic. Filled with travel and disappointment. We’ve been jumping from town to town, looking for somewhere I can get a job in the steel industry, wish me luck. -

I haven’t written in a while, I’ve been very busy. We’ve been traveling west and have settled in Indiana. I was unable to find a job in steel work, so my wife and decided to take another large risk. We are starting our own shoe making business. We lack the funds for anything, large, so we are going to start small and see what happens. -

We finished building the shop today, we couldn’t have done it without the help of the friendly townsfolk. There was always someone there helping us along. It’s very strange how neighborly every one is , I don’t think we would’ve revived this kind of help in Poland. -

We made our first sale today, it was very exciting. I think that this shoe store is going to make an impact on the community we live in. I think this shoe store is going to be able to sustain is for a long time.
