War with Mexico
An army was sent to Texas to protect it from Mexico. America requested land around Texas and Mexico refused. Mexico lost the war and gave America the land they requested which extended the land. -
Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
Ended the two year war between Mexico and America in favor of the United States. Expanded the US territory by adding an additional 525,000 square miles.
