    Social Structure is a system of levels in society. Stable Food Supply is when a society has enough food, and some to trade.
    Religion is a set of beliefs, together with forms of worship such as holidays, prayer services, and rituals. Government is a group of people who keep law and order and make laws. Writing is symbols & signs put together to make words. Culture is a people's unique way of life. Technology is all advances, inventions, created to make life easier.
  • The Epic of Gilgamesh

    7th century BCE
    Gilgamesh is the Priest-King of the city of Uruk.He is a tyrannical king who works his people to death and takes what he wants from them. The gods hear them and instruct Anu, the goddess of creation, to make a twin for Gilgamesh, someone who is strong enough to stand up to him and who will ultimately save him. Anu makes Enkidu, a hairy wild man who lives in the wilderness with the animals.
  • Abraham

    Approx. 1900 BCE
    Abraham is one of the biblical patriarchs and a major character in the epic of the Israelites. His story is told in chapters 11-25 of the Book of Genesis, and he plays a prominent role in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Abraham was born in Ur Kaśdim.
  • Hammurabi's Code

    1792-1750 BCE
    King Hammurabi of Babylonia lived in the capital of Babylonia, Babylon. Babylonia is in southern Mesopotamia which means "land between two rivers". Mesopotamia is between the Euphrates and the Tigris River in the Fertile Crescent. King Hammurabi was the one who created the Code of Hammurabi. Hammurabi's job was a kaw maker and to be king.
  • Joseph goes to Egypt and the Israelites follow

    Approx. 1700-1280 BCE
    Joseph in the Old Testament was a boy that his brothers sold to Egypt. Joseph married a daughter of the priest of Egypt.
    He was bought by Potiphar, who was an officer and head of the kitchen of Pharaoh. As it turned out, Potiphar took a liking to Joseph, and he made him his personal attendant and placed him in charge of his household.
  • Moses, the Exodus from Egypt, and the Ten Commandments

    Approx. 1280-1240 BCE
    According to the Book of Exodus, Moses was born in a time when his people, the Children of Israel, were increasing in number and the Egyptian Pharaoh was worried that they might help Egypt's enemies. The 10 Commandments was written by god, “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me". That's my proof.

    Approx. the middle of the 13th century to the middle of the 11th century BCE, Deborah was a prophetess of the God of Israelites, and the fourth judge of pre- monarchic Israel, and she was the only female judge mentioned in the bible, Deborah led a successful counterattack against the forces of Jabin king of Canaan and his military commander Sisera. Ruth was not a judge,but she lived in the time before kings.
  • The Reign of David

    Approx. 1013-973 BCE
    David according to the hebrew bible was the 2nd king of the United Kingdom of Israel. David was born in the city of Bethlehem in Judea. He was divinely selected to replace Saul after Saul didn't follow G-d's instructions in the war against the amalekites. The message was delivered prophet Samuel who then annointed David as the next king.
  • Elijah

    Approx. 875-853 BCE
    Elijah was one of the important Biblical prophets. Elijah lived during the times of King Ahab and his wicked queen Jezebel. Elijah is regarded by all faiths as a healer, a miracle maker, and a great hero who stood against the might of Kings and false prophets.
  • Siege of Lachish

    701 BCE
    The siege is documented in the Hebrew Bible. The city was captured by the Assyrians, its inhabitants led into captivity and the leaders of Lachish tortured to death. The town was abandoned, but resettled after the return from Babylonia. The capture of Lachish was evidently an event of considerable importance to the king for he devoted an entire room to the composition.
  • Siege of Jerusalem

    587 BCE
    The Siege of Jerusalem took place from June 7 to July 15, 1099 during the First Crusade. During it, the Crusaders stormed and captured the city from Fatimid Egypt. The Siege is notable for the massacre that followed, during which virtually the entire population of Jerusalem was slaughtered.
  • Indus Valley Civilizations

    2000 BCE
    Indus people are also called Dravidians. MohenjoDaro:1922. Harappa 1921. Artifacts dating back as early as 2000 BCE tell the story of a civilization flourishing with craftmanship, agriculture, and religious life. The Indus people were very important on cleanliness or ritual bathing. Ceramic seals also provide insight into the Indus' religious beliefs.
  • The Aryan Invasion and the Vedas

    1700 BCE
    Aryans: The Aryans descended from the Hindu Kush and the Himalayas into the Indus Valley.The Aryans were patriarchal, worshipping in only male gods. Much of the Indus' religious culture remained alive in villages and was adopted by the Aryans.
    The Vedas: The most poplar out of the 4 scriptures were the Rig Veda.The historical sweep of Vedic writing reflects deep shifts in spiritual interest and ways of worship. The Vedas were transmitted orally, then transcribed into Sanskrit.
  • The Ascetics and the Upanishads

    700-500 BCE
    Ascetics:The Ascetics represented the elite of society. The ascetic was a person dedicated to a life of spiritual auserity and self-discipline. They often gathered with others to live lives of intense devotion and meditation.
    Upanishads: They contain almost exclusively dialogues of a geru, spiritual master. The fire rituals were replaced by the deep internal searching of the ascetics. Belief-Atman: A persons soul which must return to Brahman, the universal soul.
