This is it!
Ryan Air This is the airline we are using. We are flying from Leeds/Bradford to Chania, on the sunny island of Crete. We wil be picking up a hire car at the airport from [Alianthos Car Hire](//http://www.alianthos-group.com/) and driving from there over the mountains to the resort of Paleochora -
Our first day on the Beach
I imagine that we will be having a lie in, as we won't have had much sleep the previous night. After a leisurely brunch I am sure that we will make our way along to the beach, hire a couple of sunbeds, and spend the rest of the day relaxing. We are staying at the Lito Apartments. They look good on their website, so take a look here The Lito Apartments Oh it is a hard life! -
Michael Joins us in Paleochora
Michael has booked a weeks package with a firm called 'Sunvil'. They are the only company that currently does package holidays to this village.
He is staying at the Hotel Rea, which is close to our apartments. -
Trip to Elafonisi
We are planning to take a trip to Elafonisi. Here is a map of the route. We shall wait 'till the Friday to give Michael the chance to aclimatise to the heat! -
Michael returns to the UK
I am sure that it will seem too short, but Michael will go home today. I am sure that we will all miss him, and that it will seem very quiet without him! -
Ferry to Mirthios
Today we transfer from Paleochora to Mirthios. We will all be sorry to leave, as I know that we will all love being in the village, but a new place awaits us! We will travel as far as Hora Sfakion on a car ferry, as there are no roads along the south coast of the island at this point, and from there we will drive on to Anna's apartments. -
Anna View Apartments
After we have driven from the Car Ferry we will be checking in at Anna View Apartments. They look absolutely fantastic on the website, as we have what looks like the best view from them, across the bay and out to sea. Here is our room! Doesn't it look fantastic! I am just so excited!!! -
Kourtaliotiko Gorge Beach
Kourtaliotiko Gorge This is the beach at the end of one of the gorges that I plan on walking through while we are in Crete. there are many to chose from and the most attractive have a good place to swim at the end! -
Day trip to Chania
Planning a trip to Chania, for two reasons. The first is that I have never been to the city and I believe that it is very beautiful, and the second is to give us a dry run of our trip to the airport on the 26th. -
Frangokastello
Another planned trip, this time to the ruins of the venetian castle of Frangokastello. That and the opportunity to see yet another beach and eat in yet another Taverna! -
We are going home
Oh well, I can guess how I will be feeling today! We will leave Mirthios and head north through the mountains, back to Chania Airport. Still, we will be looking forward to our welcome home supper of Fish and Chips at The Swan!
