    The U.S hired Lewis and Clark to explore the Louisiana Territory. Also they were hired to make a map of the territory and to discover new wildlife. On their exploration the Native Americans helped Lewis and Clark a lot, in particular Sacajawea.

    The Donner Party was a group of American pioneers trying to head west. On their way west they had to go through the summit of Sierra Mountains. About 100 miles left to go until the other side, first snow fell, and 6 feet of it. During that time period they resorted to cannibalism, and the only person to survive the tragic happenings were George Donner, the father.

    On December 7, 1941 there was a surprise military attack from the Japanese Navy Air Service in the morning at Pear Harbor, Hawaii. The barrage lasted 2 hours long and in the attack 2,000 soldiers died and 1,000 was wounded.

    On May 9, 1990 the San Jose Sharks became a NHL team and started the regular season on October 4, 1991 against the Vancouver Canucks. The Sharks went to their first Stanley Cup Finals last year in 2016, but lost to the Penguins in 6 games.

    On September 11, 2001 the World Trade Center and the Pentagon was hit by planes from terrorists. That event killed 3,000 people and put many in hospitalization. The terrorist attack was done by Al Qaeda and he confessed three years after the attack.
