    According to the Myth the Trojan War began after Paris, Prince of Troy abducted, Helen, Menelaus's beautiful wife. Menelaus convinced his brother, the king of Mycenae to lead a mission to find her. He was followed by more then a thousand ships! The siege went on for 10 years until one day a horse appeared at the trojan gates. After much debate, they took this as a sign of submission and brought the horse inside the gate where a group of warriors jumped out at night and finished Troy.

    The first olympics consisted of only the men's 200m run, which was called the stadion. For the next 13 olympics this was the only event. Every four years they would another Olympics. The 14 Olympics had more events, such as javelin throw, discus throw and wrestling. The winner of any of the events would take home an Olive branch.

    The battle of marathon was the first Persian invasion. The Persians sailed to the bay of Marathon where the Greeks surrounded them and trapped them into the plains. We based a marathon off of this because a messenger ran 26 mile to Athens to deliver the news which is the length of a marathon.

    The battle of Salamis was yet another victory for the Greeks against Persia. The battle of Salamis took place in the straights of Salamis where the Persian fleet entered. The Greeks tried to black them but were defeated. Xerxes wanted a decisive battle but the next time they were in the straights they struggled to get through and were ultimately defeated

    In the Battle of Corinth the Romans overpowered ancient greece and it became a part of the roman empire. The army of the romans almost doubled the size of the Greeks and Corinth was totally destroyed in the battle. The empire met its downfall.
