    Laboratory founded by Wundt in 1879 in the German city of Leipzig. The studies conducted here are credited with being the beginnings of modern psychology
  • Concentration Camp Experiments

    Concentration Camp Experiments

    These experiments were conducted at the order of high ranking German officials in the NASDAP. These test for psychological responses were conducted against racial, ethnic, and minority groups targeted by NASDAP.
  • Nuremburg

    Nuremburg

    These trials were conducted by the allies of World War Two, against high ranking NASDAP officials. They provided a great amount of insight into the mental workings of the people responsible for the facilitation of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by NAZI Germany during the Second World War.
  • Milgram Experiment

    Milgram Experiment

    These were a series of experiments conducted by Yale University professor Stanley Milgram to test individuals obedience to figures of authority. Individuals were asked to shock subjects at a higher voltage without reason. Even though the shocks were fake, the subject pretended to feel more pain. Most individuals went very far into the experiment without stopping.

    This commission was established out of the need to provide clear boundaries for the differences between behavioral and biomedical research. It also clarified what constituted genuine consent, and provided guidelines for who could be chosen for experiments and how.
