Estates General meeting called out by the king due to how bad economy was for the country. King louis expected to receive more tax revenue from 3rd estates and raised taxes for everything. Had also created a voting system of one vote per estate, but every vote would also oppose 3rd estate and they wouldn't receive any actual representation. -
The national assembly was pretty much the gathering of the 3rd estate to try and get the change that they wanted and needed to be able to properly live. -
On this day, those who were in opposition of the king and his way of ruling the land, and the people of the 3rd estate swore an oath inside of a tennis court. The whole meaning of this oath was that they wouldn't stop meeting and discussing until they received what they needed, which was basically change and more equality amongst everyone. -
The raiding of the Bastille pretty much was the spark of the French revolution, it was the first move to fight back against the royalty and finally get the change that they wanted, they had acquired weapons and raided the Bastille for gunpowder, they had tried to set negotiations but nothing came to terms, the peasants just decided to raid and kill all royal french soldiers. -
France very soon was partially changed, the king was no longer in charge of everything, but instead was used as a figurehead in their new form of government (Like King Charles for Canada) which was shared with the king, and the revolutionary side of France. -
This was pretty much the new French system trying to get rid of any traces of what was the old French system, but they were especially focused on the churches and nobility sides and focusing on establishing national symbols on citizens. French governments changed several times throughout its development, but all with the same effect of straying power further and further from the king. -
After finding out that King Louis did not support any of the things that the revolutionaries were doing was soon sent to court in which he would be put on trial for treason and was very soon accused of treason. Many wanted to deport him but Max insisted on beheading him since he believed that the revolution could only live on if the king died. So a vote was held and by one vote difference it had decided the kings fate. Death by Guillotine. -
Maximilien was very proud of how far he had taken France, but he feared that he might lose this enlightened society due to the counter revolutionaries, both foreign and domestic. So anyone opposing his way of ruling would be sent straight to the guillotine without any questioning or trial, he soon started the so called "Republic of Virtue". Which for him meant to kill more people -
The most hated woman in the history of Frances was being convicted and found guilty of treason. Her sentence, Death by Guillotine. -
This was the final day for Max to rule France in which he made the ultimate mistake. He mentioned to the National Convention that he had a list of people to send to the guillotine, in which of that list many of the names were of people in the National Convention, so they all voted on sending him first to the guillotine and ending his life and the Reign of Terror.
