    The third estate deputies declre themselves the National Assembly, but soon becomes the National Constituent Assembly. and begins to write a constitution for France.
    The proclaim the abolition of the estate system.
    The pass the Declaration of Rights of Man and of the citizen.
    They pass the civil constitution of the clergy.

    Aware of events and alarmed by the presence of royal troops in the city, people of Paris take to the streets. They storm the Bastille, a fortrees established symbol of royal authority. This is the beginning of the popular revolution.

    - France is now a constitutional monarchy
    - It gives the vote to men who are 25 and over with a certain level of income or property
    - It establishes the separation of powers; executive, legislative and judiciary.

    The king refuses to allow an individual vote, and afraid of the third state, he flee to Austria. They are discovered and the return to the Tuileries Palace.

    People started turning against the king and some call for his abdication. In August of 1792, in response to Prussian threats, the people attack the Tuluries Palace and the royal family is arrested.

    A coup d'etat results in the execution of Robespierre. And in the first half of 1795 hapened the First White Terror. And they also adopt the constitution of 1795 establishing a new form of government called the Directory.

    InNovember of 1799, a coup d'etat brings an end to the Directoriy. Three of its leaders: Napoleon, Joseph Sieyees and Pierre-Roger Ducos, governed as the consulate.

    Napoleon was proclaimed Emperor of the French in 1804. He won voctories over France creating a new map of Europe.

    In 1805, Napoleon was defeated by the United Kingdom at the haval Batttle of Trafalgar.

    In 1812 Napoleon invaded Russia and in 1814, after easing the Battle of Leipzing he abdicated. And finallly in 1815 he escaped and returned to Paris.
