    Louis XVI crowned King of France
    He was married to Marie Antoinette, an archduchess of Austria. Louis XVI became King of France when his grandfather died on 10 May 1774. King Louis' rule resulted in the French Revolution because of his poor performance in power.

    Calling of the Estates General
    The estates general consisted of the first estate, second, and third estate each representing different portions of the french population. This was the first meeting since 1614. King Louis called up this meeting in hoping of changing the way France's taxing is.

    When the first and second estate voted, it left the third estate loosing since each estate only got one vote. Realizing that they take up 97% population of France, it seemed unfair. The national assembly was then created, consisting of the third estate alone.

    Three days after the national assembly was formed the 3rd estate was locked out of the meeting room at Versailles. They broke into an indoor tennis court on the grounds of Versailles and had a meeting of their own in there. The members pledged to stay until a new constitution was established, this is a sign that says the've had enough.

    When Louis XVI placed his army around the grounds of Versailles after the Tennis Court Oath, people took this as a threat and stormed into the Bastille. They gathered all the weapons and powders. This signifies the act of revolution.

    This was the start of the French Revolution.The rebellious peasants caused a panic to the first and second estates. They even attacked manor houses in hope of stopping feudalism.

    The women in Versailles has finally had it with going to sleep starving because of shortage in bread. It also didn't help that rumor went around saying Marie Antoinette was hiding bread in the Versailles. So the mob of women gathered all the torches and weapons to storm the Versailles.

    The french queen, Marie Antoinette, was in fact from Austria. When she was executed during the French Revolution, it angered the Austrians. As a result, Austria threatened French to go to war.

    After crowning of Louis XVI, people realized he was making France worse. Bad harvest, high priced goods, high taxes for the third estate all made people question the king. They finally decided that it was enough and killed Louis XVI on the guillotine.
