  • Tennis Court Oath

    Estates general failed. Third estate created a national assembly and moved to a tennis court, where they made an oath. This led to the Declaration of Rights of Man and the storming of the Bastille.
  • Necker if Fired

    In July of 1789, Necker was fired by King Louis XVI because he was "too sympathetic" towards the Third Estate. He also wanted to tax the rich.
  • Declaration of Rights of Man and Citizen

    The National Assembly created a document that gave all citizens equal/individual rights during the French Revolution.
  • Constitution of 1791

    Constitution created by the National Assembly to give voting rights to the Legislative Assembly. The constitution lasted less than a year.
  • National Convention

    Parliament of the French Revolution created after the fall of the National Assembly. It was the first republic in French government after the monarchy.
  • Execution of Louis XVI

    Death by guillotine in Paris at the Revolution Square.
  • Committee of Public Safety

    Phase of the French Revolution during the reign of terror where mass public executions were held by the Committee.
  • Execution of Marie Antoinette

    She was the wife of Louis the XVI and was executed for crimes against France.
