  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
    Voted to establish National Assembly, proclaiming the end of Absolute Monarchy and beginning of representative government. Three days later the Third Estate delegates found themselves locked out of the meeting room, then broke the door down to enter the tennis court, pledging to stay until had drawn a new constitution.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    Angry french people storm the Bastille, this showed King Louis that they were against his monarch government. The people also stoled gunpowder and weapons from the prsion.
  • The Rights of Man

    The Rights of Man
    Noblemen made grand speeches, declaring their love of liberty and equality. By morning, the Old Regime was dead.
  • Royal Family tries to escape

    Royal Family tries to escape
    King Louis was warned by his advisors that he and his family might be in danger, many supporters of the monarchy in France felt unsafe and left the country. The royal family tried escaping to the Austrian Netherlands, however near the border they got attacked and immediately returned to Paris under guard.

    The National Assembly completed the new constitution, which Louis reluctantly approved. Stripped the King of much of his authorithy, also created a new legislative body.

    The war began badly for the French, by the summer of 1792, Prussian forces were advancing on Paris. The Prussians threatened to destroy Paris if the revolutionaries harmed any member of the royal family.

    Most of the people involved in the governmental changes during 1792 were involved in the Jacobin Club. Jean-Paul Marat edited a newspaper and trehatened anybody who followed the king will be killed.

    After being put on trial the king is sentenced to death, he then is excecuted by the guillotine.

    Thousands of people are sentenced to death by execution that is caused by a conflict between two political parties the Jacobins, and the Girondins. The leader of the Jacobins, Maximilien arises as a new leader of the Revolution.
  • Execution of Robespierre

    Execution of Robespierre
    Robespierre, leader of the Jacobins is killed and the power of the Jacobins dies with him. The Girondins now have more power because of that.
