    King Louis is crowned the King of France. He will be the king that helps America during the America Revolution but also the king that puts France in debt which causes the French Revolution

    Calling of the Estates General
    King Louis XVI calls the Estates General comprised of 300 reps of the clergy, 300 reps of the nobility, and 600 reps of the peasants.This has been the first time a meeting has happened since 1614

    The Third Estates get outraged that many of them have issues yet the other Estates get to vote. They get together and decide they are the real nation and form the National Assembly

    The members of the Third Estate are literally locked out of the voting room by King Louis XVI. This prompts them to break into the Royale Tennis Court and they all agree to not leave until the King has met their demands a constitution is written

    A mob in Paris attacks the Bastille prison, a symbol of power for the French royales. The mob kills the governor and behead him and leave his head on a pole outside the prison

    The peasants during the French Revolution were so upset they attacked mansions of the nobles. There was a rumor that the nobles were trying to starve out the peasants in order to overthrow the Third Estate

    French Women force Louis XVI to leave Versaille
    French women who were upset about the high pricing and scarcity of bread force Louis XVI and his family and nobility to leave Versaille and return to Paris. They were originally not with the French Revolutionaries but intertwined before the march

    Declaration of war against Austria
    After attempts are made to restore King Louis XVI back to the throne and stop the French Revolution for good, the Third Estate is upset. This prompts them to declare war against them and also Britain and Prussia

    The National Convention tries and executes the King of France. They also execute Mary Antoinette and imprison their children for fear of having another absolute monarch.

  • The Thermidorian Reaction

    The Thermidorian Reaction
    Known in the French Revolutionary Calendar as 9 Thermidor, this is the date when Maximilien Robespierre was arrested by conspirators. This was also the fall of the Jacobin Club which was his main supporter as he was the only head of the Revolution left after the assasination of Jean-Paul Marat. Many of the people who conspired against him did so because of personal reasons. He was executed the very next day along with 21 of his closest associates

    The French Government after the National Convention. It was formed towards the end of the French Revolution and contained 5 Directors who excersied power. However only of them named Lazare Carnot had leadership skills. The Directory ended up being an ineffective dictatorship and failed to relieve France of its debt.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte takes power in France

    The Directory had failed and was baknrupt. So Napoleon was appointed general to keep them safe while there was a rumor that a Jacobin plot was emerging. After an assembly was held over an executive position it was Napoleon who spoke against him being considered a Caesar or a Cromwell. It was after his brother pointed his sword at his breast and threatened him to never take French freedom that he was appointed executive power and would be emperor

    Also known as the Patriotic War of 1812, the French Invasion of Russia was an attempt to free Poland from Russia. Napoleon also invaded in an attempt to stop Russia from trading with Britain hoping they would sue for peace. Napoleon's goal was gain the favor of Poland for political support.
  • Napoleon defeated at Waterloo

    After a failed invasion in Russia, Napoleon is finally defeated by almost all of Europe. Napoleon had the advantage but waited to attack, This gave time for Duke Wellington to rally more troops needed for the upcoming battle. This marked the end of the Napoleonic Era. Due t
