    In an attempt to lessen debt, they try to tax the rich. The rich then refuse, to keep economic privileges.

    The poor become angry due to low crop yield, harsh winters, and higher food prices

    Lower classes burn and rob the mansions of the rich and burning debt records.

  • King Louis XVI and family were arrested when trying to Leave France

  • France declares war on Austria

    It was believed that Austria was going to assist the king as the queen was born there.

  • Lois XVI sentenced to the guillotine.

    The Reign Of Terror Court

    20,000-40,000 people to death by guillotine. The Revolutionary Tribunal sent prisoners including Girondists (Revolutionaries who oversaw the revolution but were stopped by Jacobins (Another group of revolutionaries)) to death by guillotine. The Jacobins had been attacked and responded through oppressing everyone who posed a threat.

  • Everything Continues in Fear

    Churches close. The Terror now main govt. Anyone who disagreed (Monteguards, extremists, etc) sent to guillotine in 1794. Robespierre trying to associate it with positive and unite the country through patriotism.

  • National Convention arrests Robespierre and deputies.

    All beheaded the next day

  • Parliament is purged

    Most deputies are labeled royalist and sent to the penal colony of French Guinea (Dry guillotine)
