Tennis Court Oath
During this time there was a huge disagreement between the Estates. The Third Estate was mad at the First Estate because they didn't have to pay taxes and everyone else did. The Third Estate was banned from the meeting place so they moved to the tennis court. The stayed there until a new constitution was made. Soon after the Third Estate branched off the Second Estate joined with them. -
Storming of the Bastille
Originally the Bastille was a prison for upper class felons. The Bastille was 100 ft. tall and had a 80 ft. moat. It was given direct orders from the king. The Storming of the Bastille was the start of the French Revolution where the Monarchy was overthrown. During the battle the governors head was put on a stick as a victory of the Third Estate. -
Declaration of the Rights of Men
The Declaration of Man was one of the most important documents in the French Revolution. It stated people had the Freedom of speech. It also stated things like freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and the separation of powers. We still have a declaration today. -
Women's March on Versailles
During this time people were starving and did not have any bread. Most of people's diets in France was bread so they were going crazy over it. Almost 7,000 women went on a riot and started to rob places for bread. With pitchforks and weapons the raided stores and bakery's. They went after Marie Antoinette because she always had a lot of food and many say she was clueless about what was going on. She managed to escape but her bodyguards heads were cut clean off. -
France Declares War
France declared war on Austria and Prussia. The King went to war on Prussia just because people told him that he could defeat Prussia. If he defeated Prussia people might have started to like him and they might think he was good after all. It turns out he is an abomination and all of France hated him. -
Execution of the King
In general no one liked King Louis XVI for multiple reasons. He never did anything to help France and was a wimp. He of France into unnecessary wars. He also had a supply of bread while people were starving. He was never built to be the King. -

Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror began with the guillotine. The guillotine was a machine that cuts peoples heads off effortlessly. It was said to protect the country from foreigners. In this time frame around 40,000 people were guillotined. Some people were guillotined just for not liking the revolution. The Reign of Terror ended when Robspierre was guillotined. He had a bad death were he shot himself in the jaw but it didn't kill him so he had a long painful death. -
The death of Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette was the queen of France during the French Revolution. She was married to King Louis XVI at the time. It was an arranged marriage on business purposes only. France didn't like her because she was from Austria. Her husband let her do whatever she wanted because he wanted her to like him. She felt lonely so she threw ton's of parties. She also bought a new expensive dress everyday even though people in her country were starving. Soon after her husband got guillotined she was too. -

Robespierre is beheaded
Robespierre was a really good public speaker. He was also a French Lawyer and politician. He encouraged the guillotine and liked the idea. around his time there were over 17,000 deaths from it. He didn't like something the French Revolution did so he got his head cut off. -
Napoleonic Control
Napoleon was the dictator of France. He had the first empire in France. He stated the Napoleonic wars all the way into Poland. The French empire was said to have ruled over 7 million subjects.
