This was an effort to obtain bread and force the high prices of bread down. The king was awestruck by the crowd of angry women and quickly gave into their demands.

    King Louis XVI was being convicted of conspiracy with foreign powers. He was executed by guillotine in the Place de la Revolution in Paris. On October 16, 1793 Marie Antoinette was taken through the streets of Paris in an open cart, she maitained he dignity to the very end. Blame was placed on Marie for their countrys financial problems. She was convicted of treason and sentenced to be guillotined.
