    During the estate general meeting the third estate is locked out of their meeting room. They had to meet on an "tennis court" to have their meeting. They took an oath to reassemble whenever necessary until the new constitution of France is established. This event formed the national assembly.

    During the early stages of the French Revolution the revolutionaries needed a flag to rally behind. They created a new flag for France, one very similar to the flag of the present. The white represented the Bourbons, The blue and red represented Paris.

    In the city of Paris a rumor about the king started. The rumor was about him planing a coup against the national assembly. The people of Paris thought he was going to invade the city so they armed themselves by raiding armories. The only problem was they did not have gunpowder. They knew the Bastille had plenty so they also raided it.

    The declaration of the rights of man and of the citizen is a civil rights document created by the national constituent assembly. It was drafted by Marquis de Lafayette in consultation with Thomas Jefferson. It focused on liberty, right to property, an resistance to oppression.

    The women's march on Versailles

    Due to mismanagement bread became scarce in the country of France. Bread was the main food of the people so its scarcity made people starve. The peoples hunger made them angry at the monarchs. A ton of hungry women marched to Versailles to confront the king. They stormed the place, killing guards and destroying property. They monarchs escaped, but if they did not they probably would have been killed.

    The king and queen move to Paris

    After the women's march, the monarchs were forced by the people to move to their palace in Paris so they could be watched over by the people. They effectively became the prisoners of the city of Paris. They were not allowed to leave they city until the revolutionaries decided what to do with them.

    This document transformed Frances catholic church into a branch of the state. It made french priests and bishops had to be elected by an assembly. It made the pope have no power in the appointment of french clergy. It made the government maintain the churches and pay the clergies salaries.

    King Louis the XVI and his wife Marie attempt to escape to the country of Austria. The make it to the french town of Varennes and get recognized. They are arrested and forced to return back to Paris. This escape attempt results in the loss of trust between the King and his People.

    The people of France become scared of an Austrian counter revolution

    Due to Maries connection to the royalty of Austria the people believe she is going to convince them to stop the revolutionaries. The assembly votes on declaring war on the country. There is some opposition but the vote passes. Leading to France fighting Austria while also fighting itself.

    Before the french revolution the type of tole used for execution depended on the class of the person getting executed. Due to the assemblies focus on equality they made the decision to only use one machine.

    King Luis the XVI is stripped of his title

    Frances war against Austria was not going well so the king was blamed. The people of Paris storm the palace and kill his guards. The king is captured and accused of treason. He is also forced to give up his title of king.

    Due to the bad outcome of Frances war on Austria, Frances defense line was stretched thin leaving Paris defenseless. The people of Paris became scared. They realized if the Austrians stormed Paris they would free the political prisoners. To prevent the freedom of their enemies the people stormed the prisons and massacred the helpless prisoners.

    Most of the revolutionaries realized a revolution can not succeed while the king still lives. The convention voted on if they should kill him or spare him. Even though many wanted to keep him alive, the vote to executive him passed. He was sentenced to death by the Guillotine. He tried to give a last speech but he was not really given the chance. He died at the young age of 38.

    Marie Antoinette, was sentenced to death by the guillotine for supposed crimes against the French Republic. She was immensely hated by the people for her complicated dresses and rapid spending. She died at the young age of 37.

    The execution of Robespierre

    Robespierre, the leader of the Jacobin's was executed because he was labeled as a dictator by the national convention. He mass executed his political rivals. He was responsible for many wrongful deaths. Ironically the "incorruptible became corrupt". He died at the age of 36.

    I did not realize we needed sources. I do know I mainly used Britannica and also just remembered facts from the documentary. I also used past knowledge of events such as Robespierre's execution.Sorry for forgetting to properly document the sources. -Caden Pearsall
