Partisans Seize The Royal Family
With the first coalition advancing on Paris Partisans felt it necessary to secure the royal family. So the Prussians might not re install the house of Bourbon back on the throne increasing the legitimacy of their invasion and possibly setting up a puppet government. The Partisans would continue to raid prisons and holding mock trails for them all while the king was powerless and imprisoned by his own subjects. -
The Monarchy Is Abolished
Louis loosing all legitimacy is cast off by the new government and is now too powerless to stop the new government from abolishing the monarchy all together and installing what was basically a Oligarchy with the Jacobean's controlling the majority of the power in the system. Louis absence from government is now finally evident too him as the new government abolishes a privileges he once held. -

Louis who had ruled France with a fist of cloth valuing hunting more than statesmanship is walked to the guillotine to answer for the crime of incompetence and his contributions to the ineffective bureaucracy.
