  • Louis calls the Eststes-General

    King Louis was forced to call the Estates-General for the first time seince 1614. They had to get perrmisson for a reform. the third estate did not think that the way voting was fair because even though they were a bigger group of people the third estate could always be out voted by the first and second estate. The third estate broke off and called it the national assembly and did not disband until a new constitution was made up.

    Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis court oath starte when the third estate was locked out of their meeting hall so they all met in an indoor tennis court and made an oath to not disperrse until a new constitution was signed.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The Thrid Estate which was the lowest estate was mostly made of the commoners and lower clergy. They did not feel that they were being treated equally by the higher people. After the King told them to disperse they all met in an indoor tennis court and they took an oath not to disperse until a new constitution was made.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    People in Paris thought that there was going to be a counter-revolution where the king was going to use force to regain power. Patisians began to arm themselves as a defence agansed the king. They invaded the Bastille, which was a prision, to get more weapons to defend themselves. Over 100 people were killed. This was the symbolic start of the revolution.
  • Declaration of Rights of Man

    The Declaration of Rights of Man is a declaration that the national assemly created that stated that people had natural rights. This was based on simple principals and expectations of citizens so that the constitution and general welfare of people was kept.
  • March to Versaillies

    This was one of the earliest and most significant events of the French Revolution. It started as a protest about the high prices and lack of bread. They shortly joined forces with revolutionaries that wanted political reforms. This ended the Kings independance and forced him to agree to a change in power.
  • The Terror

    The main purpose of The Terror was to get rid of french invaders and and protect it from foriegn invaders. During this time the belief that men were born good and changed bad by society was created. his influenced the Terror to last longer than needed.
