    July: the storming of the Bastille: As a political opression, some members of the local militia stormed the bastille, violently killing guards and administrators and capturing the munitions. The rioters later marched on and murdered the mayor Paris, and set up a new city government

    August: the legislative assembly suspended the monarchy and send the royal family to prision because of being very moderate and not doing anything
    September: France became a republic, ruled by a National constitutional convention, after murdering prisioners and royalists which were enemies of France

    The guillotine finished with the not political skilled people and with the reign of terrior

    1793: - Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette were sentenced to death on the guillotine
    - food scarce and high prices
    - peasants rebelled against the revolutionary government
    - the reing of terror started with Robespierre as the head, where they executed all people which were considered as enemies to france (around 2500 people)
    1794: Finally Robespierre and their followers were arrested and sentenced to the guillotine (end of the reign of terror)
  • New beginning of France

    the bourgeoisie came to the power. They wrote a new constitution and established a new ruling body called the directory, headed by five men called directors.
