    National Assembly adopted Declarationof Rights, of man, and of the citizen. Garenteed the rights of liberty to all citizens, property, security, and resistance of oppresion.

    Paris stormed Bastille, hated prison that symbolized autocratic rule. Revolution begun.
  • Terroize

    Great fear, peasents fearful that nobles were hiring outlaws to terroize. Peasents rioted, stormed Versailles and demanded that Louis and Marie Antoinette come to Paris.

    The goverment is about to bankrupt because of bad crops , ect. National Assembly formed.
  • Legislative Assembly

    Legislative Assembly
    National Assembly disbanded so new Legislative Assembly can take over. Creates a constitutional monarchy; strips power from king and gace the Assembly the power of french law.

    Revolution leaders turn on each other. 3 fraction were made. Legislative Assembly formed Radicals, moderats, and conservations.

    Austria and Pussia, who supported Louis XVI, sent troops to Paris.

    20,000 Parisions invade Royal palce. Louis XVI, Marie Antionette and children went to jail.
  • Abolish

    National Convention abolishes King and Queen. Declares France a Republic. All adults male citizens are granted right to vote and hold office. Women not given same rights.

    Louis no longer King. Radical Jacobsina tried Louis for treason for treason and found him guilty . Seentencd to death.

    Great britian, Holland, and Spain realized they killed the King. Joined Prussia and Australia and fighting France

    National Assembly drafts 300,000 French citizens into the army. Revolution leader Maximellin Robespiere sets out to gather power into hands. Becomes the leader of the comitee of public safety, decides he should be an enemy of rebublic comitee had people try and executed in the same day.

    National comitee turns on Robespierre. claming that he is a tyrant, he is executed july 28

    Rospierre governed France nearly as a dictator this period known as the Reighn of terror 3,000 executed in Paris. 40,000 killed all together
