King Louis XV dies
On May 10, 1774, King Louis XV dies of smallpox. He was a very beloved king, unlike his grandson, Louis XVI who will rule France after his death. -

King Louis XVI was crowned as the new King of France. This is because his grandfather, former king of France, Louis XV died of smallpox. -
Cause of French Revolution: France becomes bankrupt
One cause of the french revolution is because france was going bankrupt. This was due to Marie Antoinia and King Louis XVI hosting luxurious parties and spending a ton of money on unnessecary things. -
Causes: Bad Harvests
There were several bad droughts which limited food sources. This meant that prices went up on food, that the 3rd estate could not afford. -My notes -
Food Shortages

National Assembly Formed

Tennis Court Oath
The national assembly had to meet at a tennis court by Versailles due to King Louis locking the doors to their meeting place. They made an oath swearing to meet until the DRM was complete. -My notes -
Attack on Bastille
French people decided to storm the "jail" of Bastille where they could get their gun powder supply. This meant that they slaughtered all of the guards at bastille in order to get what they needed. This was the start of the French Revolution. -My notes -
D.R.M Created

The King decides to gather up his family and escape to Austria after being on house arrest for 2 years. The trip was unsuccessful and the King was caught and sent to jail. -
Beheading of King Louis XVI

Reign of Terror
The reign of terror was the era in which Maximillion Robspierre decided to go crazy and behead or murder anyone who was against the revolution. Everyday, Robspierre had a list of several people who would be beheaded that day. More than 40,00 people were beheaded and the reign of terror finally ended with Robspierre being beheaded. -My Notes -
Results of French Revolution
From the french revolution, the 3rd estate gained a alot, even though there is no more estates. People now have rights and the church lost most power. The french revolution put an end to monarchy in Europe. -My notes
