Meeting with the Estates-General
The Estates General was a meeting between the three main estates of France. This was made to calm down the peasants, but only made things worse. The economy of France was terrible, and the Estates general decided on taxing them more. This majorly boosted the anger of the third estate. -
The Tennis Court Oath
This event occured when the king locked the third estate out of the estates general. The third estate in response broke into the king's tennis court and declared independence. This is what sparked the revolution. -
STORMING OF THE BASTILLE
In response to the uprising of peasants, the King sent military forces to deal with them. The French peasants went to steal guns to retaliate. They needed powder for their guns. An old prison was had it and they stormed it and won. -
ABOLITION OF FEUDALISM
This was the end of feudalism in France. The French Constituent Assembly got together to ban tithes from the first estate, and manorialism for the 2nd. Tithes took a lot of money from the peasants, and manorlism took away the privilages from the second estate. -
DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF MAN AND OF THE CITIZEN
This was a writing of almost a French constitution. This document declared all men equal and of equal power. This document helped get rid of Frances constitutional monarchy. -
WOMEN’S MARCH ON VERSAILLES
Due to the price of flower skyrocketing, the French peasant women were angry. The Women were starving, and were angry with the king and mainly the queen. They stormed to kill the queen because they hated her. This event removed the King and Queen and forced them to leave Versalies and go to Paris. -
Civil Constitution of the Clergy
The French revolutionaries was in need of a new government. They formed the Legislative Assembly. They also formed a constitution which made a limited monarchy and help seperate the church and the state. -
The Royal family attempts to escape
The King fearing for his and his families lives tried to flee France to go to Austria. He and his family dressed as servants and escaped into the night. They were discovered at a town miles from the French Austrian border. They were quickly sent back. -
France Declares War
Due to the other countries disproving of Frances Revolution other countries wanted to get rid of Frances new government. The Austrians were also a big threat because Marie Antionette the queen is from their. So they declare war on Austria which started the French Revolutionary Wars. -
Monarchy Abolished
Due to France having practically overthrown the monarchy, they wanted to make it official. A constitutional monarchy wasn't enough. They officially banned it and became a republic. -
EXECUTION OF KING LOUIS XVI
After the King tried to escape, he was put on trial. The people feared he was a traitor to France and sent him to be executed. He was taken to a guilitine and executed. -

THE REIGN OF TERROR
This was a point during the revolution where many people were being tried and executed. The French National Convention were seeking out for traitors. They killed over 30,000 people and these people didn't even recieve a fair trial. -
Robespierre’s execution
During the Reign of Terror many were exeecuted. But out of all the center of it Maximillian Robespierre was executed. He had let the newfound power get to his head, and people were fearing him, so they executed him. -
Rise of Napoleon
The French were in need of a new leader. Napoleon Bonaparte stepped up and became the dictator of France. This was the start of one of the greatest leaders in the history of the world. -
Institution of the Napoleonic Code
After becoming the leader of France, he beleived France need a set of rules. He made a civil code for all to follow. He titled this the Napoleonic code.
