Convocation of the Estates-General
France was in a lot of debt and many people were starving. Louis was not dealing with these problems so the Second Estate forced him to call a meeting of the representatives of all three estates. National Assembly
The National Assembly was formed by the Third Estate during the Estates-General. Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyes told the Third Estate delegates to pass laws and reforms in the name of the French people. Tennis Court Oath

Napolean made himself the leader of France after being a behind the scenes leader since 1799. This gesture made it so that he was more powerful than the church. Many people supported him in this action. Invasion of Russia
Napoleon led his army into Moscow where it was in flames. He decided to stay there even though it was winter and really cold. Many people died from battles or the conditions. By the time they retreated, there were only 10,000 out of the 420,000 soldiers left. The Containment of France
At the Congress of Vienna, the congress decided that they needed to make the weak countries around Frace stronger. They also wanted to have a balance of power so no country could be a threat to the others. Last, they wanted to start up the monarchy again. These actions were trying to undo the French Revolution and making sure no other revolutions could happen, but people still liked democracy and they could never go fully back.
