    Meeting of the Estates Generals
    When there is need to fiix the tax system which people were not happy with, King Louis XVI calls the the three estates (clegies, nobles and commoners) to agree upon a change that will benefit everybody. AT that time, nobles and clergies payed minimal to no tax while the commoners payed around 50% tax rate. However, this was difficult to change because clergies and nobles would beat the commoners in rthe meeting due to them being 2 vs 1.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
    The third estate seperated from the Estates Generals due to them feeling they were misrepresented there and formed the National Assembly. They then created the Tennis Court Oath which meant the National Assembly would continue to meet until there was a new constitution for France. The reason it's called the Tennis Court Oath is because they met and agreed on the oath on a tennis court.
  • Storming the Bastille

    Storming the Bastille
    People who were on the side of revolution decided to storm the Bastille, a prison used by King Louis XVI to send protestant or people he didn't like in general. This was really good for the revolutionists, since they made a statement against the monarchy and were also able to obtain weapons and gunpowder from the prison.

    The declaration of the Rights of Man is a written piece created by the National Assembly that states that all men are equal under law. This piece stated things like "Men are born and remain free and equal in rights." and "No person shall be accused, arrested, or imprisoned except in the cases and according to the forms prescribed by law."

    During this event the prices of bread were too high and women from paris decided to revolt against King Louis XVI and the much hated Queen Marie Antoinette bringing pitchforks, pikes and muskets all the way over to Versailles shouting "Bread!"

    The Civil Constitution of the Clergy was made to give the government control of the chruch. The effects of this were that due to the lack of money in France, the government decided to start selling church land.

    King Louis XVI, Queen Marie Antoinette and his family attempt to flee France however, they were caught in Verannes and forced to a trial.
  • Execution of King Louis XVI

    Execution of King Louis XVI
    After King Louis XVI and his family were captured on Verannes, King Louis XVI was forced to a trail which sentenced him to death. He was executed by the guillotine on January 21, 1793.
  • Start of the Reign of Terror

    On September 5, 1793 the Reign of Terror started. This one of the worst ages for France, many people were sentenced to death due to the fighting of two political factions, the Girondins and the Jacobins.
  • End of the Reign of Terror

    End of the Reign of Terror
    On July 28, 1794 the Reign of Terror ended. The Girondins end up gainign more power due to them executing Maximilien Robespierre, leader of the Jacobins, causing the power of the Jacobins fall with him.
