French Revolution

  • New King

    This was an event caused by the sudden death of his father King Louis XV who died from smallpox. He was immediately named King and his wife Marie Antoinette was Named Queen of France.
  • American Revolution Begins

    This marks the first major event of the american revolution. While across the Atlantic ocean french citizen are beginning to have thoughts about doing the same.
  • Estates General

    A legislative power which had not been used for more than a century was called to order when there was an uprising of rage in France. Though this did not go as planned the 3rd estate was heavily outnumbered giving them no chance in the vote for fair taxation.
  • Formation of the National assembly

    This was a Revolutionary (Ha get it???) event as it created a representative body for the voiceless. The 3rd estate needed a helping hand badly so they stopped waiting and made one.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Yet another major event in the french revolution, this one was bigger. This had stated that they 3rd estate would remain as one until a constitution recognized as an authoritative document.
  • Storming of the Bastille

    A statement by the members of the 3rd estate and a fear striking event happened in France when the people of the 3rd estate stormed a prison/armory/symbol of the kings power; Bastille.
  • French Women Force the King out of Versailles

    On this day a statement was made when not only the French citizen but a mob of French Women march to Versailles and subsequently force the king out of Versailles.
  • War on Austria

    In a response to the King secretly talking to Austrian and Prussian monarchs to invade France and restore the Monarchy the Leaders of the revolution will declare war upon Austria.
  • Formation of The National Convention

    This is yet another governmental system created by the leadership of the French Revolution. This was not long lived as it would be dissolved very quickly.
  • The King is Executed

    After being imprisoned by French Revolutionaries for writing letters Neighboring countries with monarchies. He will later be found guilty of treason as he continues to write letters to these countries.
  • Beginning of The Reign Of Terror

    This is arguably the most gruesome time in history as what seems like a million were executed most died by way guillotine.
  • Therimidorian Reaction

    This is a more so confusion part of the French Revolution as the man who was behind most of the execution is ruled a tyrant and executed along with 20 or so associates.
  • Formation of the directory

    This was a system of government which was a replacement for Robespierre's committee of public safety.
  • Napoleon Takes Control

    In an event called the coup d'état Napoleon walks into the head on the directory and tells them that he is now in charge and if anyone objects he has a massive army outside who they can talk to.
  • Napoleon Invades Russia

    In an attempt to go where he has not yet conquered he invades a land mass that is Russia. He had only expected to be there for a short amount of time but later stayed into the winter months which Russia has never lost a war during. He has to march is army back to France in merely a fraction of what he brought there and what followed was the Prussian and Austrian armies.
  • Battle of Waterloo

    Recognized as Napoleons last stand the Battle of Waterloo marked the Emperors last defeat and last Battle.
