The Third Estate, or the commoners of France, declare the National Assembly. On July 14th, the revolution began with the Storming of Bastille.

On October 5th, a large group of women and men traveled from Paris to Versailles in order to demand lower bread prices, which forced the king and queen to move back to Paris. On October 6th, the Jacobin Union was formed, which is where some of the most radical leaders of the revolution began.

The Flight of Varennes happens-- the King and Queen attempted to flee France. King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette attempt to free France after the protests and demands become too much. They are then captured and returned and forced to sign a new constitution.

King Louis XVI signs a new constitution. The Legislative Assembly is formed.

The guillotine becomes an official method of execution. France declares war on Austria on April 20. The September Massacres happen, which was when thousands of political prisoners were killed before they could be freed. The National Convention is established, and the first French Republic is founded.

King Louis XVI is executed by guillotine. Civil war breaks out in the Vendee area. The Committee of Public Safety is formed, which will rule France during the reign of terror.

Robespierre, the leader of the Committee of Public Safety, declares that terror will be the "order of the day". Anyone suspected of opposing to the revolutionary government is arrested and later executed. Queen Marie Antoinette is executed by guillotine.

Robespierre gets overthrown and executed; the Reign of Terror comes to an end. Also, Antoine Lavoisier was executed because he was a traitor.

"La Marseillaise" is adopted as the National Anthem of France. A new Directory is formed and takes control of the French government.

Napoleon comes in and overthrows the Directory. He establishes the French consulate with himself as the leader of France. Curtains closed, the French Revolution is over.
