The National Assembly
Revolutionary assembly that lasted from June 13th 1789 to July 9th 1789. The people of France became sick and tired of their political system and strived to make a change. Peasants revolted against the nobility and the monarchy, creating a gap of hope for a new government. A lack of leadership caused a continue in the bloodshed and chaos od the revolution. The Storming of the Bastille
The storming of the bastille took place on July 14th, 1789. The Bastille was a prison in the center of paris that represented the powerful Royal authority. It was stormed by french revolutionaries and taken over. March on Versailles
On this date nearly 7000 armed women marched to Versailles from Paris. The were originally marching to protest the absence of bread, but eventually it became revolutionary ideas. Flee from Paris
King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette attempt to flee from France on June 20th, 1791. Louis’ purpose was to escape to the eastern frontier to initiate a counter-revolution. The King and Queen only made it to a small town called Varennes before they were arrested. Louis XIV Attempts to Flee to Varennes

The Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was a period of the French Revolution that consisted of a devastating amount of violence during September 6th 1793 to July 28th 1794. The Reign of Terror began with King Louis XVI’s death. Across France, 30,000 people lost their lives during this time. Execution of Marie Antoinette
October 16, 1793 The queen of france Marie Antoinette is executed. She is executed nine months after her husband King Louis XVI.
