    Meeting of the Estates General
    The meeting of the Estates General was for King Louis and the rest of the people, to talk about a solution for their economy; which was not the best at the time. This was the start for the lower class people to realize what they could do to their government. This did lead up to the Execution to King Louis the XVI and the Reign of Terror in France
  • Storming of the Bastille

    Storming of the Bastille
    On July 14th, 1789, Angry mobs of people from Paris, charge in and eventually destroy the State prison on the East side of Paris, known as the Bastille. This was a sign that the people did not like the way that things were being run in France, and wanted to change it from a Monarchy to a Democracy.

    The Declaration of the Rights of Man & Citizen
    On August 27th, 1789, the lower class people created this Declaration just like the Americans Declaration. This document was suppose to represent that everyone should have the same rights and equality level, since the lower class people has less rights than the people above them.
  • Women’s March on Versailles

    Women’s March on Versailles
    On October 10th, 1789, a bunch of low estate women marched down to the Palace of Versailles (Where King Louis III was and his wife.) The women were angry because they heard that the king and queen had bread and grain and were not sharing any with any of the low class people. So the Women marched all the way to the palace, and told the king, what they thought. The women marching also made King Louis III and his queen move away from the palace(Later to come back).

    France Declares War on Austria
    On April 20th, 1792, Many european leader were getting worried about France. The people of France had just overthrown King Louis and killed him. Some were just scared, while others were trying to figure out what they could do if they attacked. France with no clear ruler or king, decided to attack Austria, this was one of the better and expiring moments of the revolution. The French actually beat Austria.

    After the meeting of Estates, the lower class people sooned realize what power they actually had within the government and wanted to change it. Most of the lower class people agreed that this needed to change, but not all wanted to kill the king. The king being executed was the start of the "Reign of Terror".

    Reign of Terror

    During the 1790's a group called the Jacobins came to france and started to take power over the government. With this new power, the thought was to protect the revolution so their government would change. The Jacobins ended up killing more people than protecting people. With this new power, the ranks, or levels of equality went the same. Everyone would be equal. There were many documents released during this time, trying to protect the revolution. One big one was how Farmers had give up food.

    More people hated Marie Antoinette more than the king because people think she hogged food. She was also killed by guillotine just like King Louis. Most people did not want to hang anyone, but some people just took it to far, and killed the king.

    On July 24, 1794, Famous French leader during the Reign of Terror, Maximilien Robespierre, died by Guillotine. He was one of the main reasons that the Revolution went so violent rather than talking it out. Once Robespierre died, the Revolution calmed down and Napoleon comes in, and starts to rule france again. As a Monarchy
  • Napoleon’s Coup d'etat

    Napoleon’s Coup d'etat
    On November 9th, 1799, Famous Leader Napoleon came into power of France once the Reign of Terror was over. Napoleon had worked his way up to power by joining and being in the military for over 10 years. The Revolution started to settle down once Robespierre was out of power, and Napoleon went into power. In 1804, since the Coup d'etat happened, he then crowned himself emperor.
