    King Louis XVI called the first meeting of the French Estates generals in 165 years. The clergy, noblemen, and rest of France were called. The king proposed solutions for governmental problems. This event was significant because it was the start of the revolution.

    The Tennis court oath was taken on 6/20/1789. they vowed to "not to separate, and to reassemble wherever circumstances require, until the constitution of the kingdom is established.” It was a very important event in the beginning of the revolution.

    After being put on trial the king is sentenced to death. He is executed by the guillotine on January 21, 1793. He was unanimously voted guilty.
