    These right stated: men are born and remain free and equal in rights. These rights included: liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.
    It was influenced by the Decleration of Indepedence.

    A Great Fear Sweeps France
    Thousands of Parisian women rioted over the rising price of bread. They took knives, axes and other weapons and marched into Versailles.First, they demanded the national assembly take action to provide bread.Then they turned their anger into the king and queen, they broke into the palace and ended up killing some of the guards.The women demanded that King Louis and Marie Antoinette return to Paris, and after some time, Louis agreed. A few hours later the king, his family and servants left.

    The royal family tried to escape France to the Austrian Netherlands. When they got to the border, they were caught and returned to Paris.This attempt to escape increased more enemies in the government, because of the showing his weak rule.

    Moderate leaders in the National Convention drafted a new plan for the government.It placed power firmly in the hands of upper and middle class and called for two house legislature and an executive body of 5 men, known as the Directory.These were five moderates, not revolutionary idealists. They also found a right general to command France’s armies – Napoleon Bonaparte.
