French Revolution

  • Marriage of King Louis 16 and Marie Antoinette

Marriage of King Louis 16 and Marie Antoinette
I think this event was important because it started the bond between austria and france. But caused the war between france because if the queen had been from france also there wouldve not been a bond between another country and no one would care about the revolution enough to start a war. www.history.com
  • The birth of louis xvii and rule as "king"

The birth of louis xvii and rule as "king"
I think this was a very important event because the more kids Marie Antoinette and KIng Louis the 16th have the more of a bod france has with austria. Until the downfall of the king when he was beheaded. This was another main cause of the war because it created a bond with more of the king than france. So without the war there wouldve never had been death to Marie Anoinette and they wouldnt care about the death of King Louis the 16th. ( FROM NOTES)
  • Causes of french revolution

    Causes of french revolution
One reason for the french revolution is that their wealth had lowered because of the fighting against england. The king also was unjustly ruling and had broke the social contract. At that time thye also had bad harvests and lowered wealth. They also had an unfair estate system and had the less wealthy paying taxes and the wealthy people not paying taxes. Enlightment ideas also encouraged the thought of rebellion. ( From notes)
  • National assembly creation

    National assembly creation
The 1st and 2nd estate were one team and always outvoted the third estate, so the third estate was tired of this action so they decided to break away. They started a new parliament called the national assembly. The first and second estate parliament locked the doors to the assembly building on th national assembly. With nowhere else to assemble they went to a tennis court and started to right the DRM. ( FROM NOTES)

Declaration of rights of men ( DRM )
The declaration of rights of men was mainly a document that stated all rights of men by the national assembly. It spread new ideas such as ones from the enlightmennt and antagonated the revolution. The document was created at the tennis court and was the reason for the tennis court oath. They would meet there everyday no matter what until the document was finished. (fFROM NOTES)
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Tennis Court Oath
The tennis court oath was an oath all of the men of the national assembly took that said they would meet at the tennis court no matter what until the DRM was finished. This oath was sort of a type of rebellious action and angered the king just as much as the ideas in the DRM did.
  • Attack on the Bastille

    Attack on the Bastille
The attack on the Bastille mainly started because the king surrounded Paris with his army. So the people of Paris needed weapons to fight with against the army. Their weapon and gunpowder supply was inside of the bastille. So they took any weapons they could find and attacked the Bastille with the objective of obtaining more weapons. (FROM NOTES)
  • Bread March

    Bread March
The Bread March was a mob of women who were fed up with the kings unjust ruling. During the Bread March the women who attacked the castle captured the royal family and put them on house arrest in Paris. The castle they attacked was called versaille. The main cause was because of starvation throughout france because of the king unjust spending rasing of taxes for money of his own needs. They also wanted the king to sign the DRM. (NOTES)
  • Royal Escape

    Royal Escape
The Royal Escape was an attempt of the king and queen to escape to austria. The longer the king stayed on house arrest the more power he lost. They picked austria to escape to because the queens family lived there and they would be prtected. In this attempt they made it to the border of Austria and were captured and brung to Paris.
  • Death of King Louis the 16th

Death of King Louis the 16th
King Louis was found guilty for treason. The reason he was beheaded for this small act of crime in our day. Is because that was the only sentence dor treason in that time period. The reason he was convicted for treason was because of his attempt to escape to Austria during his house arrest sentence.Treason is the betraying of a country in his legal state of conviction.
  • Reign Of Terror

    Reign Of Terror
The Reign of Terror started because France was losing the war against Austria, Prussia, and Great Britain. This was a period of time when they started started killing anyone against the revolution. Before the Reign of Terror the king was sent to the guillotine and during the reign of terror 40,00 people and Marie Antoinette was sent to the guillotine. (FROM NOTES)
  • Death of Maximillian Robespierre

    Death of Maximillian Robespierre
Maximillian was killed during the reign of terror because he did not fully support the french revolution. He was cornered in a room and shot himself in the jaw to end his misery. But he didnt die and he was put to the guillotine the next day while suffering on the table in the assembly room. WWW.history.com
  • Death of Louis xvii

    Death of Louis xvii
The death of louis 16th mustve angered the austrian army even more because it was Marie Antoinettes son.
  • Results of the French Revolution

    Results of the French Revolution
A new government was created and there was no longer any estates. The first and second estate now ahve to pay taxes. The third estate benifitted the most from the French Revolution they now are not always over voted, and no longer have to pay all the taxes. France had also won the war against Austria and Prusssia. This was also an end to monarchy in france and a start of democracy.
  • Death of Napoleon Bonaparte

    Death of Napoleon Bonaparte
I think this was a very important event because he was the greatest general france ever had and is considered one of the best in the worlds history. He died of stomach cancer.
